TONY BYRNE – CHAUFFEUR / DRIVER GUIDE
In his own words……. Hello, Tony Byrne is my name and I have over 30 years working in the Chauffeur/ private tour guiding sector ( Bord Failte accredited Tour Guide) . I have worked for many foreign embassies such as the Embassy of The United States of America, British Embassy, Israeli Embassy and The Department of Foreign Affairs here in Dublin, but have devoted the last twenty years touring our beautiful countryside here in Ireland. Touring Ireland is a job I love doing and have met many wonderful people, lots who I befriended and are still in contact with today and many who returned to see and enjoy Ireland once again.
As a conversationalist I love to keep abreast of current affairs, home and abroad. Although Dublin city born and bred I particularly like to keep up to date on farming matters here in Ireland, in particular sheep farming, this question arises the most.
I have a passionate love of my native language, its song and dance and nothing give me more pleasure as when I take guests around our country to a shows such as Celtic Steps ( A spectacular Irish music, song & dance show) and to hear their reaction afterwards, very rarely am I disappointed!.
I have many favourite places here in Ireland, my native city, my jewel and darling Dublin, Kinsale in West Cork, Beara Peninsula, Ring of Kerry, Dingle, Galway, Connemara, Aran Islands, Innis oirr, the wonderful Slieve League in Co Donegal , The Giants Causeway, Belfast, Carrickfergus. Finally that magical place called the Burren. I have yet to really understand why the Burren appeals to me so much, I only know there is nothing like it anywhere in Ireland, or Europe, a rare landscape indeed.
I love having fun & Craic with the visitors, the guests of our nation. Nothing gives me more pleasure when they tell me that the food in Ireland has astounded them, in Particular the seafood, lamb, the Guinness stew and the bread. This is my Real Ireland, and I love showing it off…….
