Irish Day Tours

Irish Chauffeurs offer a number of small group Irish day tours, max 16pax, from Dublin City Centre.


This day tour commences at 7.30am from selected hotels and takes you to Waterford, the oldest city in Ireland established when the Vikings first visited here in 852AD and where tourists have being coming ever since. Reginald’s Tower dominates the skyline, gazing over the bustling River Suir and the narrow medieval lanes of the Viking’s triangle.

10.30am. Waterford Crystal, the awesome gem in Waterford’s wonderful crown, is a magical world of precious glass blowers and elegant engravers. After the factory tour return to the magnificent new showroom to marvel at these pieces of art.

There is time for lunch at the showroom restaurants or one of the local bars or restaurants before departing to Kilkenny at 13.30.

14pm Arriving into Kilkenny, this  City is Ireland’s most authentic medieval city; Kilkenny Castle, St. Canice’s Cathedral and the Black Abbey have being residing here since the thirteenth century.

Remarkably these ancient structures rest seamlessly with hip bars, chic restaurants and fashionable boutiques. 14.30pm your 1 hour walking tour of Kilkenny city commences and you will hear all sorts of stories from wealthy tradesmen to bishops and witches, Kilkenny has seen it all. A Witch who murdered her four husbands? A Mayor who fathered 25 children! A pass time involving Kilkenny Cats! A Spinning Cage outside the Tholsel for troublemakers!, A public burning of Petronella the maid in 1324! Roaming Pigs in Graveyards and the town centre! Black Death, Whippings, Burnings, Crime, Jails, Theft.

After your walking tour finishes you will have time to view the  grounds of the Magnificent Kilkenny Castle.

16.30pm Depart Kilkenny City for Dublin city and your drop off location Nassau Street & selected hotels in the heart of Dublin City.



This day commences from 8.30am &  takes you to the “Royal County” of Meath and firstly to Trim where you will have the opportunity to photograph Trim Castle, the largest Anglo-Norman castle in Ireland. It was built by Hugh de Lacy when he was granted the liberty of Meath by King John of England. This castle was used in the movie “Braveheart” starring Mel Gibson.

Travelling onwards to Bective Abbey the ruins of this 1147 Cistercian Abbey is as impressive today as the day it was built.

Departing Bective you will meander your way through the lush farmlands to The Hill of Tara situated in the heart of the Boyne Valley. This site has been associated with the crowning of the High Kings of Ireland many centuries ago, at the summit of the hill is an enclosed Iron Age Royal Enclosure known as the Fort of Kings.

Travel North Easterly to the town of Slane and to the newly established Slane Distillery which is housed within the 250-year-old stables of the iconic Slane Castle estate. The guides will immerse you into the wonderful world of whiskey and its history in Ireland. Visitors will journey through the heritage room, barley room, mash house, brew house before getting a chance to taste the Signature triple casked blend, that is Slane Irish Whiskey.

You will have time to visit the gift shop and to photograph the stunning Slane Castle which has hosted everyone from King George IV to millions of music fans who have come to see super acts such as: Queen, Bon Jovi, Rolling Stones, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, to name but a few.

16.30pm Depart Slane for Dublin city and your drop off location Nassau Street or selected hotel in the heart of Dublin City.
